Türkiye begins construction of naval base on Black Sea
Türkiye's Defense Ministry has begun construction of a Black Sea naval base in the country's northeastern Trabzon region.

The current facility will be the ninth base for the Turkish Navy. The country currently has naval bases in Mersin and Iskenderun on the Mediterranean Sea, in Akzas and Focha on the Aegean Sea, in Golcuk on the Sea of Marmara, in Eregli on the Black Sea, as well as in Istanbul and Canakkale on the Bosphorus.
It is reported that 400 military personnel and 200 civilian experts will work at the base.
