Due to the influence of the southwest wind zone on the western edge of the subtropical high-pressure system combined with wind convergence above 5000m moving eastward, from late afternoon and tonight (May 12) until May 13, widespread thunderstorms will continue to occur in many places in Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa.
In particular, the provinces of Northwest and Northeast Vietnam will experience moderate to heavy rain, with some areas receiving very heavy rainfall. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, hailstorms, and strong gusts of wind.
Rain may occur unexpectedly throughout the day, but the heaviest rainfall and most widespread showers will occur in the late afternoon and evening. Due to the rain, temperatures across Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa today are quite pleasant, decreasing by 1-3 degrees compared to yesterday.
