Due to bad weather, hundreds of passengers are stranded at Vinh Airport.

All of them were passengers on Vietjet Air flight VJ221, scheduled to depart from Vinh at 11:10 PM on January 5th and arrive at approximately 0:55 AM on January 6th. However, the plane has not taken off yet.

Mr. Ha Buu Khoa (born in 1989, from Binh Dinh province), who works at the Nghi Son Refinery (Thanh Hoa province), requested three days of leave due to an urgent matter. According to his plan, after arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, he was scheduled to fly back on the evening of January 6th to return to work the following day (January 7th).

“I had an important matter to attend to on the morning of January 6th, which is why I had to buy a plane ticket urgently. On the afternoon of January 5th, after finishing everything, I rushed to Vinh airport hoping to get to Ho Chi Minh City in time. But even now, I'm still waiting here,” Mr. Khoa said angrily.

According to Mr. Khoa, on the evening of January 5th, Vietjet Air announced that due to bad weather, the plane could not take off, and therefore the flight was canceled. At this time, some passengers began to express their frustration, but seeing that Vietjet had implemented support measures, arranging transportation to take passengers to hotels for overnight stays, everyone advised each other to accept the situation since they couldn't travel anyway.

On the morning of January 6th, passengers once again went to Vinh airport to wait, but Vietjet Air announced that the flight would not be able to take off until 5:35 PM that same day. The flight delay and the resulting disruption to their work caused many passengers to lose their composure and demand refunds from the airline.

"I thought I'd finally get to fly, but instead I had to struggle until late evening, and even then, I wasn't sure if I'd even be able to fly. I missed everything, and I feel so sorry for the children and the elderly," one passenger said.

Regarding the incident, a representative from Vietjet Air stated that due to bad weather, conditions were not suitable for aircraft takeoff and landing in Vinh. Previously, flight VJ220 from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh on January 5th, scheduled to depart at 9:30 PM, was also unable to land and had to be diverted to Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi).

Here, passengers can check their ticket "code" and find complete and accurate information about their flight route and departure time to proactively adjust their travel plans.
