Fashion, heating equipment for the season, the market in Nghe An is "warming up".
From fashion stores and local markets to electronics supermarkets, warm clothing, heating equipment, dryers, blankets, sheets, and pillows are abundantly available at stable prices across a wide range of segments. Purchasing power has increased significantly in just a few weeks, indicating that winter arrived early this year and people's shopping needs accelerated with each cold spell.
Winter fashion purchasing power is "warming up".

On the first chilly days of the season, strolling along familiar fashion streets in Nghe An such as Nguyen Van Cu, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Le Hong Phong, Pham Kinh Vi… one can easily notice the bustling shopping atmosphere. Most stores have simultaneously changed their appearance, displaying jackets, sweaters, thermal shirts, and a range of eye-catching winter accessories. The most sought-after items currently are thin sweaters, light jackets, thermal shirts, fleece jackets, windbreakers, and practical long-sleeved t-shirts. These products are commonly priced from 100,000 to 400,000 VND, suitable for the needs of students, office workers, and many families.
The variety of materials such as felt, cotton, and bamboo, along with youthful and easy-to-match designs, gives consumers many choices and allows them to keep up with the latest fashion trends. Ms. Tran Thanh Huyen, owner of a clothing shop in Truong Thi ward, shared: “This year the cold weather came early, and customer inquiries increased sharply in just 1-2 weeks. We proactively imported thermal jackets, wool, and down early, and prices haven't fluctuated much. Besides that, warm shoes, wool scarves, gloves, and winter skincare products… have also been fully updated to serve customers.”

According to many shop owners, at the beginning of the season, customers mainly prioritize products that provide moderate warmth, suitable for cool weather. Therefore, windproof jackets, thin puffer jackets, and lightweight sweaters are currently dominant. In particular, stores quick to adapt to market trends have brought in many "hot trend" styles, youthful Korean-style designs, or modern, minimalist styles to optimize the wardrobes of young consumers. Not only women's fashion but also children's fashion is experiencing very strong sales.
At Vinh Market, the section specializing in children's clothing is always crowded. When the weather turns cold, parents often shop seasonally, especially for young children who are growing rapidly. While choosing a jacket for her child, Ms. Vuong Minh Nguyet (Vinh Phu ward) said: "I have two children, and every year when winter comes, I have to change their clothes because they grow so fast. I prioritize thermal shirts, lightweight jackets, fleece pants, warm but soft and stretchy materials. Vietnamese products are reasonably priced, so they are easy to buy."

Notably, prices for winter fashion items this year are quite stable. Many small traders believe that abundant supply, early arrival of goods, and seasonal demand have prevented price surges. Simultaneously, many stores are implementing early promotions, offering vouchers, and providing combo discounts to stimulate demand and enhance competitiveness. At bookstores and supermarkets, thermal items such as thick socks, wool hats, scarves, gloves, heat patches, and hot water bottles are also being stocked, catering to a diverse range of consumers.
Heating appliances are selling well, while clothes dryers are becoming increasingly popular.

Not only fashion, but also winter household goods are entering an "early peak season". At electronics stores and household goods shops, many heating, drying, and warming devices are fully stocked, from the affordable to the high-end segments. Observations at electronics stores on Thang Long, Quang Trung, Mai Hac De, Le Loi streets, etc., show a sharp increase in customers browsing and shopping, with purchasing power increasing 5-7 times compared to normal days in just the last two weeks.
Among the most sought-after appliances is the clothes dryer, a product that people are particularly interested in during cold, rainy weather with high humidity, which makes clothes take longer to dry and even develop a musty smell. Nguyen Van Hien, owner of an electronics store on Thang Long Street, said: “For about two weeks now, the number of customers buying dryers has increased sharply. Specialized dryers from Samsung and Electrolux, priced between 8 and 13 million VND, are popular because they both dry and smooth clothes. Our customers are mainly young families and office workers.”

Not only high-end models, but also the range of drying cabinets, mini dryers, and foldable dryers priced from a few hundred thousand to a few million dong are selling like hotcakes, suitable for the budgets of many families or students living in rented accommodation. Some stores even continuously livestream sales, offer free gifts, and provide installation support to attract customers. Ms. Pham Minh Anh from Nghi Loc commune shared: "With the rainy and humid weather, clothes take forever to dry after washing and have a very unpleasant smell, so I decided to invest in a dryer. This year the cold weather came early, so I bought one early to use for the whole season."
Also in the winter product category, health and heating products such as ceramic heaters, fan heaters, steam irons, dehumidifiers, electric blankets, heating mats, and mugwort mats are receiving a lot of attention. In particular, 0% interest installment plans, gift giveaways, and package discounts make these products more accessible to consumers.
The market for bedding, pillows, and mattresses has also become bustling. At a store on Mai Hac De Street, customer numbers increased significantly from the end of October. Large quantities of sheepskin, velvet, rabbit fur, and mink blankets were imported, with a wide variety of designs and sizes.
Ms. Tran My An, a store employee, shared: “At the beginning of the season, we applied discounts of 20-40% along with free gifts to attract customers. We anticipate a very cold winter this year, so we've imported more goods.” In many supermarkets, cold-weather household products such as insulated water bottles, thermos flasks, electric kettles, insulated porridge containers, and thermal underwear are also selling well.

According to retailers, the surge in demand at the beginning of the season has prompted businesses to proactively stock up, import goods early, and develop sales strategies in batches. Many retailers are also boosting services such as home delivery, in-home warranty, and advice on safe winter appliance usage. A noteworthy point is that consumers are increasingly interested in genuine, high-quality, energy-efficient, and health-safe products, especially electrical appliances. Many families are choosing appliances with safety features such as automatic shut-off, steam drying technology, dust filtration, odor removal, and child-friendliness. In the context of rising prices for many essential goods, the fact that winter goods remain at stable prices shows a balanced supply in the market, a positive sign for consumers.
According to weather forecasts, this winter in North Central Vietnam may be colder than the multi-year average, with several prolonged periods of cold and damp weather. Therefore, businesses expect purchasing power to continue to increase, especially towards the end of November and before the Lunar New Year. With proactive consumer behavior, a trend towards high-quality and safe products, and the flexibility of retail channels, the winter market in Nghe An is expected to maintain stable growth in the coming period.
