Announcement of temporary suspension of some electronic tax systems for 5 days.
The Tax Department announced that from 5 PM on March 12th to 8 AM on March 17th, some electronic tax systems will be temporarily suspended for upgrades and conversion of categories as part of the restructuring of tax agencies.
The Tax Department has just issued Notice No. 41/TB-CT dated March 12, 2024, regarding the temporary suspension of electronic tax systems to facilitate upgrading and restructuring of tax agencies.
Accordingly, the Tax Department stated that, in implementing the plan and policies of the National Assembly and the Government on restructuring and reorganizing the State apparatus, on February 26, 2025, the Ministry of Finance issued Decision No. 381/QD-BTC stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Tax Department. This includes the reorganization and implementation of a model with 20 regional tax offices and 350 district-level tax teams, replacing the previous 63 tax departments and their subordinate tax offices.
To implement the new model, the Tax Department announces the temporary suspension of some electronic tax systems for upgrading and converting tax categories from 5:00 PM on March 12, 2025 to 8:00 AM on March 17, 2025. Outside of this period, the tax systems will operate normally.
Taxpayers will continue to carry out tax administrative procedures (except for electronic tax payment) through electronic tax channels, in-person reception, and postal services throughout the upgrade and transition process. "However, the processing and delivery of results may be delayed, so the tax authority sincerely apologizes and hopes for the understanding of taxpayers," the tax authority's announcement stated.
