Latest information on the 'huge' drug seizure in Vinh City
Much new information about the "huge" drug seizure in Vinh City on the morning of January 9 has been revealed.
As reported by Nghe An Newspaper, on the morning of January 9, on National Highway 46, through Hung Chinh Commune (Vinh City), Vinh City Police arrested a group of drug traffickers. Notably, among them was Mr. Mua Ba Vu (born in 1983) - Chairman of the People's Committee of Na Ngoi Commune (Ky Son). At the scene, the police seized at least 34 cakes carefully wrapped in nylon suspected to be heroin.

According to the latest information, Mua Ba Vu is believed to be the leader of this ring, with extremely sophisticated methods and tricks. Taking advantage of his familiarity with the area and the cover of being a local official, Vu colluded with key figures across the border to trade drugs, then transported them to other localities across the country for consumption. The important link in the ring led by Vu was identified as Le Hoang Cuong (born in 1990), residing in Hanoi.

According to initial information from the authorities, with the determination to stop this drug ring and prevent drug smuggling into the country, Vinh City Police have established a special project to fight it.
Thereby, at around 1:00 a.m. on January 9, the task force discovered Mua Ba Vu moving from Ky Son district to Vinh city with many suspicious signs. Determining that the opportunity was ripe, the task force decided to solve the case when Vu had just arrived in Vinh city.

When this subject appeared in the area of National Highway 46, passing through Hung Chinh Commune (Vinh City), the Task Force immediately raided and successfully arrested Mua Ba Vu. At the scene, the Task Force seized 35 kg of synthetic drugs, 4 heroin bars, 1 car and some other related evidence.

At the same time, in Cua Nam ward, Vinh city, the task force of the Special Investigation Committee arrested Le Hoang Cuong for the act of illegally buying, selling and transporting drugs. At the scene, the authorities seized many other related evidences.
Currently, the Vinh City Police Investigation Agency is continuing to investigate and expand the case.
