Latest information on the case of the girl kidnapped and held for a ransom of 150 million VND.
During questioning at the police station, the suspects confessed that while working at the karaoke bar managed by Vu, Ms. Han borrowed 7 million VND from him. After 6 months, the principal and interest increased to 45 million VND. Unable to repay the debt, Ms. Han returned to her hometown.
On the afternoon of January 27th, the Criminal Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security, the Vinh Long Provincial Police, and other relevant units, they had arrested a group of suspects led by Pham Nguyen Ngoc Vu (born in 1992, residing in Dong Nai province) for investigation into the crime of kidnapping for the purpose of extorting property.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Police received a notification from the Vinh Long Provincial Police regarding a group led by Vu using a 7-seater car to abduct Ms. Le Ngoc Han (born in 2006, an online seller), forcing her into the vehicle and transporting her from Vinh Long towards Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon receiving the information, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's leadership directed its forces and local police to set up checkpoints on roads throughout Ho Chi Minh City.


Just about two hours later, this group of suspects was apprehended and arrested by the Ho Chi Minh City Police and several other units.
During the search, the police seized a gun (identified as a fake), homemade firecrackers, a plastic bag containing white crystals suspected to be drugs, and several other items.

Seeing this, Vu and the other six suspects planned to kidnap Ms. Han and demanded a ransom of 150 million VND from the victim's family. While waiting for the victim's family to bring the money for the ransom, they were arrested by the Ho Chi Minh City Police and handed over to the Vinh Long Provincial Police for investigation and processing according to regulations.
