Pilot Nguyen Huu Cuong only sustained injuries to his arm, and the wound is starting to heal with new skin forming; his health is recovering well.
According to information from the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, this morning (June 24), Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, visited and inquired about the health of pilot Major Nguyen Huu Cuong, Deputy Squadron Commander of Squadron 1, Regiment 923 - one of the two pilots on the Su-30MK2 aircraft that crashed on the morning of June 14 and is currently being treated at Military Central Hospital 108.

Reporting to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, Professor, Doctor Mai Hong Bang – Director of the hospital – stated that Mr. Cuong only suffered injuries to his hand, and the wound was beginning to heal. Fortunately, organs such as the liver, kidneys, and other parts of the body were not injured, and his health is recovering well.
Inquiring about the health of pilot Nguyen Huu Cuong, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung expressed his appreciation for the fighting spirit of the air defense and air force forces in general and pilot Nguyen Huu Cuong in particular, as well as for the sacrifices and losses of the fighter pilots recently.
On this occasion, the Minister encouraged and presented gifts to pilot Cuong, wishing him a speedy recovery and assuring him and his family that the doctors, nurses, and people would always be by his side. The Minister also thanked the doctors at Military Hospital 108 for treating and caring for Cuong during the past period with all their heart and responsibility.
Pilot Nguyen Huu Cuong expressed his gratitude for Minister Dao Ngoc Dung's visit. He also hoped for a speedy recovery and the ability to fly again.
Sharing with the Minister about the difficulties in her life, Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, Mr. Cuong's wife, said that she currently works shifts at the 99th Guest House of the Capital Military Command, often working night shifts. Therefore, she wishes to take on an administrative job so that she can have more time to take care of her children.
