Vinh - Hung Tay route opens to traffic on December 31, 2018

On the morning of October 26, the Provincial People's Committee organized a delegation to inspect the progress of the Vinh Sub-urban project. Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee led the delegation; representatives of various sectors and leaders of Vinh city accompanied them.

The Vinh urban sub-project funded by the World Bank has so far completed 10 packages and is completing some packages such as Vinh - Hung Tay road, ancient citadel moat, and repairing some small items.

The contract for the regulating lake and 35m road has been completed, and the construction of a small drainage ditch and park is currently underway. The railway overpass has been completed, and the Ke Gai River overpass is about to be completed, and this is the final milestone of the project.

The package to upgrade and renovate the ditch around Vinh Citadel, the construction unit is currently dredging mud and soil to clean the moat.

The Hung Tay - Vinh road package includes 3 sections, carried out by construction consortiums. Currently, the Ke Gai river overpass section is unfinished; the other sections have been completed.

The route has completed 100% of the site clearance according to the approved design. The estimated construction volume is 92%, the implementation time is about 92% including the time for construction preparation.

At the scene, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the efforts of contractors, investors, construction progress and said that the project opens up great development potential for Vinh city.

Working in Hung Nguyen district, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien requested construction enterprises and investors to stay on site to speed up the construction progress of Ke Gai bridge so that by December 31, 2018, the Vinh - Hung Tay route can be opened.

The 70m wide Vinh - Hung Tay route is the first section of Vinh - Cua Lo Avenue, connecting from Quan Bau intersection in Vinh city to VSIP Nghe An Industrial - Urban Area. The route opens up a large East-West axis for Vinh city and creates new land for the city to the West. This is also the largest road section in the city that will be opened to traffic on December 31, 2018.

Up to now, the total disbursed ODA capital of Vinh City Sub-project is 71.297 million USD, reaching 85% of the total existing project capital (83.8 million USD); project implementation time is 92%.
