Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang, owner of a 15-hectare clam farm in Van Hai, happily reported that this season, each hectare yielded 15-18 tons of clams. With high production and good prices, he mobilized additional manpower to speed up the harvesting process. “Now that it’s the hot season, demand is strong, so I’ve mobilized nearly 30 workers to harvest clams along the tidal flats,” Mr. Hoang said excitedly. Mr. Ho Xuan Ninh – Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Van Hai commune (Quynh Luu district) said: “The entire commune currently has about 80 hectares of clam farming with 20 households involved. The clams are purchased by traders and sold throughout the country. Many households here have escaped poverty and become well-off thanks to clam farming.
