(Baonghean.vn) - In the 2016-2017 high school entrance exam, many students from Ho Xuan Huong Secondary School (Quynh Luu district) achieved high scores and were admitted to prestigious high schools in the province and district, becoming valedictorians and salutatorians.

A prime example is To Thi Thu Ha, a student in class 9B at Ho Xuan Huong Secondary School, who achieved the highest score in the entire province with a total of 47.50 points. Her scores were 9.25 in Literature, 9.50 in Mathematics, and 10 in Foreign Language (Literature and Mathematics weighted by a factor of 2). Also in class 9B, another outstanding example of studiousness is Ho Thi Tuyen. With a total score of 46.25, she achieved the title of second-highest scorer in the province in the recent high school entrance exam.

Besides her own studies, To Thi Thu Ha also takes the time to help her younger sibling with their homework.

Ha was very pleased with her exam results, and this achievement was not unexpected by her teachers and friends. Throughout her years at Ho Xuan Huong Secondary School, Ha consistently achieved a GPA of 9.1 or higher, leading her grade and the school in academic performance. For nine years, in each provincial and district-level student excellence competition, Ha also excelled, winning first and second prizes in Chemistry and Literature.

Sharing her study secrets, valedictorian To Thi Thu Ha said: "Besides focusing on listening to teachers explain exercises in class and in the textbook, at home I regularly solve different sets of practice problems to hone my problem-solving skills and handle difficult problems so that I won't be confused when encountering different types of problems. In addition, I also frequently seek out solutions to challenging problems in advanced textbooks, and whenever I'm stuck or don't understand something, I confidently ask my teachers for explanations."

“Ha is a very exemplary student, highly self-disciplined and well-rounded in all subjects, so she always achieves high results, ranking first in the class and the school. Therefore, her results in the entrance exam to grade 10 are truly well-deserved, reflecting her efforts and hard work over the past time.” This is the comment of Ms. Le Thu Trang – homeroom teacher of class 9B.

Also in that 9B class, there was another outstanding example of studiousness: Ho Thi Tuyen. With a total score of 46.25, Tuyen achieved the title of second-highest scorer in the province in the recent entrance exam for 10th grade high school. Specifically, she scored 9.75 in Mathematics, 9.75 in Foreign Language, and 8.5 in Literature.

To become the runner-up in the exam, Ho Thi Tuyen always demonstrated a high level of self-discipline in her studies.

“During my studies, I always remember the exemplary achievements of my seniors, and I tell myself that I must strive harder to one day achieve the same results as them, and even surpass them. Therefore, during every break or whenever I have free time, I try to complete all my homework and learn more about the subjects I will pursue later. Moreover, I dream of becoming a famous scientist like the scientists I admire, such as Professor Ngo Bao Chau in Vietnam, and Newton, Thales, and Pythagoras abroad,” shared Ho Thi Tuyen.

Ms. Le Thu Trang, the homeroom teacher of Ha and Tuyen, regularly monitors and guides the students in their studies.

In class 9B of Ho Xuan Huong Secondary School during the 2016-2017 school year, many students passed the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School.

Commenting further on Tuyen, Dang Quynh Anh, the class president of 9B, said: "Ho Thi Tuyen is a very well-behaved, diligent, and hardworking student with a high level of self-discipline. Tuyen always takes her studies seriously. A familiar image of her is that during all recess periods, even during class activities when her classmates might be chatting and having fun, Tuyen is still engrossed in her books, studying at all times and in all places."
