According to AFP/Reuters, on July 21, Sarah Huckabee Sanders officially became the new White House Press Secretary following the resignation of her predecessor, Sean Spicer.

This is seen as a significant internal reshuffle within the White House by US President Donald Trump.

Earlier, Trump had appointed Anthony Scaramucci as White House communications director. Spicer resigned in protest against President Trump's appointment of Scaramucci.

Speaking on Twitter after resigning, Mr. Spicer said he would continue working until the end of August 2017.
