The goalkeeper from Nghe An will continue his association with B. Binh Duong.
(Baonghean.vn) - After winning the 2018 National Cup, B. Binh Duong is a team that has been spending heavily to retain veteran players in preparation for the 2019 V.League season.
As part of their preparations for the new season, the Binh Duong management has renewed one-year contracts with veteran players including: striker Nguyen Anh Duc, midfielder Le Tan Tai, center-back Nguyen Xuan Luan, and goalkeepers Bui Tan Truong and Tran Duc Cuong.
The trio of goalkeepers, Bui Tan Truong, Le Tan Tai, and Nguyen Anh Duc, were retained by their club with substantial sums of money. According to sources, Binh Duong FC paid a total of 1.4 billion VND in signing bonuses to each of these individuals. Furthermore, these three key players also receive salaries of up to 50 million VND per month, the highest in the team.

In early 2016, goalkeeper Duc Cuong transferred from SLNA to Binh Duong and has since had his contract renewed twice with the team from Binh Duong. This goalkeeper, with his ideal height (1.81m), was trained at the SLNA academy, but couldn't compete with senior players at the time like The Anh and Hong Son, so he was transferred to SHB Da Nang (2003-2010).
He then moved to Hoa Phat Hanoi FC. The goalkeeper, born in 1985, won a silver medal with the Vietnam U23 team at the 2005 SEA Games and was part of the national team that won the 2008 AFF Suzuki Cup. At the club level, he won the 2009 V.League championship with SHB Da Nang.
Although he is only the second-choice goalkeeper at B. Binh Duong after Bui Tan Truong, Duc Cuong still proves his worth whenever given the opportunity. He is an experienced goalkeeper with 7-8 years of experience playing for the national team and various clubs.
