Earn 500 million VND per sea trip with 'ship 67'

(Baonghean.vn) - Fishermen in Quynh Luu (Nghe An) are actively going offshore to catch seafood in large fishing grounds. This time, many 'ships 67' brought in from 400 -600millionVND/train/trip.

After 3 days and 2 nights of fishing in the common fishing area, fishing boat NA96588-TS, owned by Nguyen Van Trung and crew members in Quynh Long commune, caught more than 20 tons of various types of fish; mainly hairtail, silver pomfret, mackerel, squid... with a value of more than 600 million VND. After deducting expenses, each crew member earned nearly ten million VND.

It is known that this is a ship built according to Decree 67 of the Government with a value of 10.8 billion VND, engine capacity of 822 CV. Since its launch, this is the 3rd trip to sea and also the most "profitable" time, so the crew is very excited, with more motivation to prepare for new journeys.

Also during this period, most of the fishing vessels of Quynh Long, Tien Thuy, Son Hai, Quynh Nghia communes... after each offshore trip achieved high yields; some boats only spent 2 days and nights at sea, encountered large fish streams and brought in 35 - 40 tons of various types of seafood, each worker earned several tens of millions of dong.

Fishermen's boat 67 has large capacity, strong engine, new fishing gear, so it can go offshore to exploit distant fishing grounds such as Hoang Sa, Truong Sa, Bach Long Vi, Bac Bo Gulf... so the output is often higher.

Since the beginning of the year, fishermen in Nghe An have had a big catch of hairtail, squid, and silver pomfret... currently, hairtail is priced at 110,000 - 115,000 VND/kg, silver pomfret is 40,000 - 45,000 VND/kg, squid is 100,000 - 120,000 VND/kg... on average, each boat earns over 500 million VND/trip.

Seafood arriving at the port is immediately purchased by traders, then sorted and transferred to cold storage and markets. Payment is also made quickly so that fishermen have capital to continue preparing for the next trip.

According to statistics, from the beginning of the year until now, Quynh Luu district is estimated to have exploited more than 15,000 tons of seafood, with a value of nearly 400 billion VND, reaching 25% of the plan, exceeding 21% compared to the same period in 2016. Many seafood sources such as hairtail, grouper, mackerel... are purchased by traders for processing and export.

Identifying seafood exploitation as a key economic sector, Quynh Luu has recently paid special attention to supporting fishermen to invest in fishing infrastructure and encouraging the construction of large-capacity ships. Of the total of nearly 1,300 ships, there are over 700 large-capacity ships, of which 37 are built according to Decree 67.
