Thu Quỳnh admits to having a 'three-year downward spiral' in the past.
Facing one's mistakes head-on is never easy, even for someone as seemingly tough as Thu Quynh. Her "three years of downward spiral" almost led the lead actress of "Go Home, My Son" to give up acting.
"In my third year of university, I received offers for two television roles simultaneously. With the ambition of youth, I accepted both roles at the same time. I worked very hard – balancing my studies with filming both shows. After that, I realized that despite my hard work, the results weren't what I hoped for. When the shows aired, I found that the quality of both roles wasn't good. My studies also suffered because I couldn't keep up with the class schedules."

Thu Quỳnh has admitted to past mistakes for the first time. |
"At that time, with my own arrogance, I thought I would do well. After such a greedy choice, I fell. Then I went downhill for quite a long time, about 3 years. When I was mature enough, graduated and started working at the Youth Theatre, I realized I was still too inexperienced, there were so many things I needed to learn and improve, I was nothing yet. Therefore, I thought I should stop, I should only choose one thing, cultivate my foundation first, and I chose the stage" – Thu Quynh's self-reflection in the program of the same name surprised many viewers.
Few people would imagine that an actress as versatile as Thu Quynh once considered quitting her profession multiple times due to doubts about her abilities.

Failure made her doubt her own abilities. |
Born in 1988 into a family with a tradition in the arts – her mother was an actress in the General Political Department's theater troupe, and her father was a dancer in Military Region 1 – Thu Quynh had already dreamed of becoming an actress even before graduating from high school. The actress still keeps a yearbook from her 9th grade yearbook with wishes for her success as an actress, written by her friends.
It was her love for the stage and the tenacity of My the wolf that kept Thu Quynh engaged and motivated her to break through her own limits, becoming one of the top choices in the VTV film universe.
Having played many memorable roles such as My Soi in "Quynh the Doll," Hue in "Go Home, My Son," and Thy in "The Taste of Family Love," Thu Quynh says that each character has a little bit of herself in it. She doesn't bring her entire personality into any one role, avoiding becoming herself instead of the character.

It was precisely this tenacious spirit that helped Thu Quynh quickly recover from the shock of her marriage breakdown. Previously, after six years of passionate romance, when they were considered an admirable couple in Vbiz, Thu Quynh and Chi Nhan unexpectedly announced their separation, much to the surprise of their fans. Their marriage ended after only one year of living together, and the actress began life as a single mother.
After a period of depression, Thu Quynh bravely rose again, balancing her roles as both father and mother, arranging for her and her son's lives to be stable both emotionally and financially.

After the divorce, she quickly recovered and became a pillar of support for her son. |
Thu Quynh says that her biggest support is her family: "I have the embrace of my parents, and now I have the embrace of my son too." Throughout her career, she says she has always had three loyal fans, the most demanding being her father, followed by her mother and son. Their comments are a huge source of energy for the actress. Her parents not only watch her on television but are also her first audience whenever she takes on a new role on stage. They also frequently offer advice and support throughout her life.

After taking a break from acting, Thu Quỳnh will soon reunite with audiences in a new film directed by Meritorious Artist Mai Hiền.
In this film, Thu Quynh will play An Nguyet, a female investigator at the Supreme People's Procuratorate. Unlike the scheming and calculating Khanh Thy in "The Taste of Family Love," Thu Quynh revealed that An Nguyet is a cheerful woman and a good wife at home.
