Earning billions from shrimp farming crop 1
(Baonghean.vn) - After 3 months of focusing on raising and caring for shrimp, many households in Quynh Luu district (Nghe An) are currently harvesting the first shrimp crop with joy and success, earning billions of dong.
This is the 6th year that Mr. Ho Dinh Anh's family in Quynh Bang commune continues to receive joy when the shrimp harvest reaches a high yield. With 2 ponds, of which 1 pond is currently harvesting about 9 tons of shrimp, an average of 40 shrimp/kg sold for more than 200,000 VND/kg, this shrimp farming season he earned a profit of more than 1.3 billion VND.
To raise shrimp successfully, Mr. Anh always follows the procedures and applies science to shrimp farming. With a pond area of nearly 5,000 m2, he stocks shrimp at a density of 80 shrimp/m2 and raises shrimp using microbiological technology.

“Before raising shrimp, you must ensure the water is clean, do not add chlorine but use molasses to kill impurities (to raise microorganisms), create color and then release the shrimp. The most important factor in the shrimp farming process is a clean environment,” Mr. Anh shared.
Many shrimp farming households in Quynh Bang commune are also entering the harvest season with joy and success, with good prices. For example, Mr. Thai Hung's household in Dong Hung village has 4 ponds stocked with CP shrimp since the end of February. After 90 days of farming, they harvested more than 20 tons; after deducting expenses, his family earned a profit of more than 2 billion VND.

The entire Quynh Bang commune has 186.6 hectares of shrimp farming area, of which 172 hectares are stocked with first-crop shrimp. As of June 2, the entire commune has 21 households out of 140 that have harvested shrimp with a yield of over 75 tons on an area of about 15 hectares; the average yield is 5 tons/hectare, generating tens of billions of VND in revenue.
According to Mr. Vu Van Duong - Vice Chairman of Quynh Bang Commune People's Committee, the aquaculture situation up to this point is very positive, many shrimp farming households have a good income, some households earn from 1 - 2 billion VND/crop. At the beginning of the season, shrimp prices were relatively high, but in early June, prices decreased; however, compared to last year's shrimp crop, the purchase price is still higher.

Currently, many shrimp farming households in An Hoa, Quynh Minh, Quynh Luong, Quynh Thanh, Quynh Thuan communes (Quynh Luu) are also urgently harvesting the first crop of shrimp; at the same time, treating the ponds to continue raising shrimp for the second crop.
