Thu Trang announces new movie, reveals surprising look

After the box office success with a revenue of over 200 billion VND for her debut work 'Billion Dollar Kiss' on Tet 2025, director Thu Trang has just officially announced her second film project titled 'Who Loves Who Loves'. This is a remarkable change when she chose to exploit the romance genre, different from her previous work.

The film is set in the Mekong Delta in the 1960s, promising to portray a simple, rustic story but containing deep emotions about the people here. Thu Trang said that over time, she has accumulated more experience and become more proactive in her directing work.

Pressure and belief in emotional stories

Sharing about her new project, Thu Trang admitted that the biggest pressure does not come from the competitive film market, but from whether the audience is willing to accept a gentle, profound life story. In the context of action and horror films dominating, a sad love story can be a picky choice for viewers.

However, the director expressed her belief that a story told with all her heart will touch the audience's emotions. 'If I do it with all my heart, the audience will feel it,' she shared. According to Thu Trang, the film was created from her own memories, nostalgia and love for her family. She hopes the work will evoke family connections, making the audience want to return and cherish their loved ones.

Surprising looks and cast

Along with the announcement of the project, the first poster of 'Who loves who loves' was also released, surprising with the image of Thu Trang herself as an actress. She appeared with white hair, a wrinkled face and sad eyes, completely different from her usual image.

In addition to Thu Trang, the film also features actors such as Hong Anh, Vo Dien Gia Huy, Tram Anh and child actor Le Hao. 'Who loves who' is expected to be released in January 2026.
