"Any talk of Russia's return to the G8 cannot happen until Russia changes its stance on the Crimea issue," May said in response to a question from Labour Party representative Ben Bradshaw.
Last week, at the G7 summit in Canada, US President Donald Trump declared that Russia should be readmitted to the organization.
However, only Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte noted that he hoped to restore the G8 format that included Russia among the participating countries.
