On the evening of August 24, after a meeting with localities, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directly inspected and directed the response to storm No. 5 in localities in Nghe An province.

Faced with the situation of storm No. 5 with very strong intensity, high level of natural disaster risk, and complicated developments that will directly affect the mainland of the Central provinces, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh decided to establish a Forward Command Center headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to direct storm prevention and control work.

On the evening of August 24, at the Government's Forward Command Headquarters located at the Military Region 4 Command, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urgently met with local leaders in person and online to direct the response to storm No. 5. Immediately after the meeting, the Prime Minister personally inspected and directed the response to storm No. 5 at Cua Lo port and Nghi Quang anchorage and storm shelter area.

At Cua Lo Port, the Prime Minister requested the evacuation of people on boats and aquaculture cages to safe places. Those who do not comply will be forced to ensure the safety of people's lives.

At the same time, measures must be taken to ensure people's property and prevent ship collisions and explosions. Absolutely, resolutely, no ship must be allowed to set sail.

The Prime Minister requested that press agencies increase communication, update information on developments every hour, and increase guidance for people on how to prevent, combat, and respond to storms.
