Emphasizing that this meeting is of particular significance as the Government has just appointed 21 new members and the 13th Government has about three months left in its term, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged Government members to work together, decisively and comprehensively implement the tasks that have been set out, focusing on key priorities.
The Prime Minister stated that immediately after the government was restructured, we had to deal with many emerging issues such as lower economic growth in the first quarter compared to the same period last year (5.46% compared to 6.12%); inflation in the first four months increased by 1.33%, while pressure for price increases remains very high; severe drought, saltwater intrusion, and environmental incidents causing mass fish deaths in Central Vietnam…

Following this, the Prime Minister requested that government members focus their discussions on several measures aimed at ensuring a growth target of 6.7% and inflation at 5%.
"The government honors businesses, promptly removes obstacles to facilitate their development; makes 2016 the year of entrepreneurship for all sectors and strata of the population; protects the property rights and business rights of the people; and creates stronger market confidence," the Prime Minister stated, raising the question: "Every sector and every level must review whether they are creating difficulties for businesses."
The Prime Minister stated that the Government will focus even more on institution building; strengthening management, maintaining administrative discipline and order, while promoting and ensuring democracy for the people, especially the disadvantaged in society. "With the people, we have everything. Without the people, there is no success," the Prime Minister emphasized, adding: "We must care for the material and spiritual lives of the people; we must say no to corruption, negativity, and waste."
