The Prime Minister has issued a Decision recognizing Nam Dan as meeting new rural standards.

Nam Dan is a semi-mountainous plain district of Nghe An province, with an important strategic position: 20 km from Vinh city center, located on National Highway 46 to Thanh Chuong to Thanh Thuy border gate and National Highway 15 to Do Luong - Tan Ky, Duc Tho (Ha Tinh).

Nam Dan is the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh.withThe long-standing historical, revolutionary and cultural tradition is demonstrated through a rich system of historical, cultural and revolutionary relics. Nam Dan has all the terrain elements: rivers, mountains, plains... favorable for agricultural and tourism development.

After more than 7 years of efforts to build new rural areas, the Party Committee, government and people of Nam Dan district have achieved many important achievements in economic, social and cultural development. More than 1,530 billion VND has been mobilized to carry out hundreds of works and projects in the field of new rural construction in the area. Of which, people's contributions accounted for nearly 22.6%. People of Nam Dan district donated more than 212,000 m²land and nearly 28,500 m²fence, contributing more than 121,000 workdays.

Up to now, 23/23 communes of Nam Dan have met the new rural standards, the district has completed 9/9 criteria and has been recognized by the Prime Minister as a district meeting the new rural standards. This is truly an honor and pride for the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province in general and Nam Dan district in particular.

Nghe An will organize the announcement of this event on the 128th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 2018) in Nam Dan district. So far, after Vinh city and Thai Hoa town, Nam Dan is the third district-level unit to reach the NTM finish line in Nghe An.
