The Prime Minister has issued a Decision recognizing Nam Dan as having met the standards for a new rural area.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 520 dated May 11, 2018, recognizing Nam Dan district as having met the standards for a new rural area.
Nam Dan is a lowland district in Nghe An province, with a strategically important location: 20 km from the center of Vinh city, situated on National Highway 46 leading to Thanh Chuong and the Thanh Thuy border gate, and National Highway 15 leading to Do Luong - Tan Ky, Duc Tho (Ha Tinh).

Nam Dan is the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh.withNam Dan boasts a rich history, revolutionary traditions, and long-standing culture, evidenced by its abundant system of historical, cultural, and revolutionary relics. The province possesses all the necessary geographical features: rivers, mountains, and plains, making it favorable for agricultural and tourism development.

After more than 7 years of efforts in building new rural areas, the Party Committee, government, and people of Nam Dan district have achieved many important accomplishments in economic, social, and cultural development. They have mobilized over 1,530 billion VND to implement hundreds of projects and works in the field of new rural construction in the district. Of this, the people's contribution accounted for nearly 22.6%. The people of Nam Dan district have donated more than 212,000 m² of land.2land and nearly 28,500 m²2fences, contributing over 121,000 man-days of labor.

To date, all 23 communes in Nam Dan district have met the standards for new rural areas, and the district has completed all 9 criteria and has been recognized by the Prime Minister as a district meeting the standards for new rural areas. This is truly an honor and a source of pride for the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghe An province in general, and Nam Dan district in particular.
Nghe An will hold an announcement ceremony on the 128th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 2018) in Nam Dan district. Thus, to date, after Vinh City and Thai Hoa town, Nam Dan is the third district-level unit in Nghe An to achieve the New Rural Area status.
