Prime Minister: No development of high-rise apartment buildings in the city center.
Government leaders have requested that ministries coordinate and urgently find solutions to alleviate traffic congestion in major cities.
The Government Office has just issued a document conveying the directives of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on solutions to overcome and reduce traffic congestion in urban areas.
Accordingly, the government leadersThe Ministry of Transport, in coordination with the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Construction, Finance, Public Security, Science and Technology, and the People's Committees of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, will summarize 10 years of implementing Resolution 16 on gradually overcoming traffic congestion in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The Prime Minister requested that the ministries quickly coordinate and draft a resolution to replace Resolution 16 after 10 years of implementation.He noted that one of the solutions is to cease further development.Apartments, high-rise buildings in the city center.
Simultaneously, the Prime Minister requested the development of satellite urban areas to coordinate and redistribute the population and workforce, and the application of information technology in traffic management, vehicle management, and traffic participant management.
According to the Government Office, tTraffic congestion in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City has become extremely urgent. Therefore, a comprehensive solution is needed encompassing planning, transportation, construction, healthcare, education and training, as well as research and proposals for specific mechanisms and policies.
A comprehensive solution to reduce traffic congestion needs to be submitted to the Prime Minister before June 30th.
