The Prime Minister has disciplined Mr. Le Thanh Hai.
Mr. Le Thanh Hai was disciplined by having his titles as Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and other positions revoked due to violations and shortcomings in his work, following disciplinary action by the Central Committee within the Party.
The Prime Minister has just issued a decision to discipline Mr. Le Thanh Hai, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
The Prime Minister decided to discipline Mr. Le Thanh Hai by removing him from his positions as Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and other positions.
The reason for the disciplinary action is that Mr. Hai committed violations and shortcomings in his work, and the Central Committee has imposed disciplinary measures on him within the Party. The disciplinary action takes effect from the date of the Central Committee's decision, May 21st.
On May 16th, at its 9th meeting, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam decided to discipline Mr. Le Thanh Hai, former member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Le Thanh Hai violated the principle of democratic centralism, Party regulations, State laws, regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example, and working regulations; he lacked responsibility, neglected leadership and direction, allowing many violations and shortcomings to occur within the Party Committee and the city government, causing very serious consequences, posing a risk of significant losses, waste, and misappropriation of state funds and assets; he allowed many criminal cases to occur, including very serious cases, with many officials and Party members violating the law, being disciplined, and criminally prosecuted, causing negative public opinion and resentment, and severely affecting the prestige of the Party organization and the city government.
The Central Committee of the Party has decided to discipline Mr. Le Thanh Hai by dismissing him from all his positions within the Party.
On March 20, 2020, Mr. Le Thanh Hai was disciplined by the Politburo with the removal from his position as former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term due to his primary responsibility for the violations and shortcomings of the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee during the 2010-2015 term in leading and directing investment in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
| The Prime Minister also decided to discipline Mr. Nguyen Ba Hoan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior, by dismissing him from his position due to violations and shortcomings in his work, and the Party Central Committee had already disciplined him by expelling him from the Party. The disciplinary action takes effect from the date of the Party Central Committee's decision on June 27th. |
