The Prime Minister has invited billionaire Bill Gates to participate in strategic consulting.

The Gates Foundation focuses on activities including agricultural development, financial services for the poor, clean water and sanitation, global education, health, and nutrition. In addition, the Gates Foundation undertakes activities in the field of public health and universal health, focusing on infectious diseases, common diseases, and diseases specific to tropical regions.

In addition to the Gates Foundation, Bill Gates founded Energy Breakthrough Venture (EBV) and Gates Ventures to promote innovation in sustainable energy and other technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. EBV invests in numerous startups attempting to commercialize new technologies. Gates Ventures, on the other hand, is an advisory organization focusing on global health and development issues as well as a technology portfolio.

In Vietnam, Microsoft Corporation has had many activities and made concrete contributions to the technology sector over the years. In the field of healthcare, one of Bill Gates' notable contributions is his participation in the Global Health Fund to support Vietnam's tuberculosis, lung disease, malaria, and HIV prevention programs. The Gates Foundation also supports activities using technology to combat climate change in the Mekong Delta…

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the goodwill and cooperative activities and support for Vietnam from Bill Gates personally and the foundations.

Inviting Bill Gates to revisit Vietnam, the Prime Minister also requested his support and assistance for the activities of the National Innovation Center (the Center's new facility is expected to open next month), as well as inspiring and motivating the younger generation of Vietnam in innovation.

The Prime Minister also expressed his hope that Bill Gates, with his vision, knowledge, experience, and capabilities, would participate in providing strategic advice on science, technology, and innovation, contributing to Vietnam's strong and sustainable development during this crucial period.

At the same time, the Prime Minister requested that Mr. Bill Gates continue to support and endorse innovative startups, science and technology, climate change response, promoting green transformation, green growth, renewable energy development, and improving healthcare and education capacity through existing funds. The Prime Minister stated that Vietnam is prioritizing development based on science and technology and innovation, including the development of semiconductor chip production and supply chains.

For his part, Bill Gates said he has always been very interested in and closely followed Vietnam's development. Vietnam is very important in Microsoft's development policy and that of its funds; he highly appreciates Vietnam's achievements in many areas over the past time, especially the impressive results in economic growth and achievements in healthcare, particularly in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He stated his desire to continue promoting cooperation and support for Vietnam, focusing on sanitation, clean water, and the environment; healthcare, especially tuberculosis prevention; AI; and advanced educational models. He also mentioned that he would deliver a message on the occasion of Vietnam's opening of the new facility of the National Innovation Center.
