Japanese Prime Minister Abe receives Mr. Pham Minh Chinh.

On the afternoon of November 30th, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe cordially received Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, who was visiting and working in Japan.

At the meeting, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Head of the Central Organization Department, and Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Pham Minh Chinh, conveyed greetings from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, expressing pleasure at the strong development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan for peace and prosperity in Asia, moving towards strengthening political trust and closely connecting economic development strategies, production capacity, and human resources.

Head of the Central Organizing Committee Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the results of cooperation between Japan and Vietnam in all fields over the past time, especially in investment, trade and human resource training cooperation; sincerely thanked the Japanese Government for its effective support and assistance to the training and development program for prospective strategic-level leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam over the past time; expressed the hope that the Japanese Government would continue to pay attention to and cooperate with Vietnam in the fields of human resource training, administrative reform, and building a streamlined and efficient state apparatus.

Mr. Pham Minh Chinh also sincerely congratulated Japan on its achievements in 2016 and expressed his hope that Japan would play an increasingly important role in the Asia-Pacific region and the world.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe expressed his pleasure at the recent development of bilateral relations; emphasizing that the continuously improving political trust between the two countries is a solid foundation for effective cooperation that brings practical benefits to the people of both countries.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe affirmed that Japan will continue to give high priority to comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam; and expressed his desire to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan and the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Regarding the human resource training cooperation project, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe affirmed that he would direct relevant Japanese authorities to actively support Vietnam, especially in training and developing Vietnamese leaders and managers at all levels; and expressed his readiness to cooperate and support Vietnam in building high-quality infrastructure. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe hoped that Vietnam would pay attention to creating all conditions for the successful visit of the Emperor and Empress to Vietnam next spring. He also stated that he would adjust his plans to visit Vietnam again soon.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe respectfully conveyed his greetings to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Also on the afternoon of November 30th, the Head of the Central Organizing Committee, Pham Minh Chinh, had a cordial meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida. During the meeting, both sides agreed that the relationship between Vietnam and Japan is developing very well and affirmed that, based on the high-level agreements between the two countries and the Vietnam-Japan Joint Vision Statement, the relationship between the two countries will continue to develop in a deeper, broader, and more effective manner.

Foreign Minister Kishida affirmed that he would do his utmost to contribute to further promoting and developing relations between Japan and Vietnam. He highly appreciated Vietnam's role in regional and international multilateral forums; and affirmed that Japan would actively support and assist Vietnam in successfully fulfilling its responsibilities as the host country of the APEC Conference in 2017 and the strategic-level personnel training project for Vietnam.
