Japanese Prime Minister orders increased security following knife attack.
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 28, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe condemned the knife attack targeting elementary school students in Kawasaki city and pledged to strengthen security checks to ensure safety in areas near schools.

“This incident has caused profound grief. I am deeply saddened that children were the targets of this attack. We pray for them and offer our condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. Earlier, I instructed ministers to immediately take timely measures to ensure that the route to school is safe.”
On the morning of May 28, a man armed with a knife attacked a group of students waiting for a bus in Kawasaki City, injuring at least 16 people.
Two of them, a female student and a man believed to be the father of one of the children, did not survive. The attacker also died in the hospital after attempting suicide.
All the injured were taken to the hospital, with two in critical condition. Kyodo News reported that the attacker is believed to be in his 50s.
The incident occurred precisely during US President Donald Trump's official visit to Japan. It is known that Trump's trip concluded today, May 28th, with a visit to a US military base outside Tokyo.
