Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presided over the welcoming ceremony for the Malaysian Prime Minister.
On the morning of March 21, at the Presidential Palace, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the welcoming ceremony for Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob and a high-ranking delegation of the Malaysian Federal Government on an official visit to Vietnam from March 20-21, 2022.

Attending the welcoming ceremony were Ministers, leaders of ministries and agencies: Government Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam News Agency, Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia, Ambassadors of ASEAN countries to Vietnam.
When the motorcade carrying Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob and the high-ranking delegation of the Malaysian Federal Government arrived at the Presidential Palace, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh went to the car door to welcome Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob. The two Prime Ministers happily shook hands warmly. Children in the capital presented flowers and waved to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob and the high-ranking delegation of the Malaysian Federal Government.

The two Prime Ministers stepped onto the podium, under the national flags of the two countries, the national anthems of the two countries were solemnly played. Afterwards, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh invited Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob to review the honor guard of the Vietnam People's Army.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully introduced the members of the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation; Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob introduced the Malaysian Federal Government delegation during this official visit to Vietnam.
Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, the two Prime Ministers held talks at the Government Headquarters.

This is the first visit to Vietnam by Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob as Prime Minister of Malaysia since taking office in August 2021.
According to the program, Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob will pay courtesy visits to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

The official visit to Vietnam by Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob takes place in the context of the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and Malaysia being developed well. The two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1973-2023).
The visit aims to further strengthen bilateral relations and enhance the combined strength of the two countries in cooperation after the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for the two sides to explore new aspects of bilateral cooperation; discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern; and promote trade and investment activities between the two countries.
