Singapore's Health Minister stated that the theft of the Prime Minister's and 1.5 million citizens' medical information was unprecedented in scale.

"I am deeply sorry that this has happened. We must learn from this incident and become stronger and more resilient," Channel News AsiaQuoting Minister Gan Kim Yong yesterday, he added that the attack was "unprecedented."
At the press conference, Minister of Information and Communications S Iswaran also resolutely stated his commitment to pursuing the cyberattack to the end. "I want to assure everyone that the government takes its responsibility to ensure the security of the public sector's information technology database systems very seriously."
Hackers illegally accessed and copied the personal data of approximately 1.5 million patients who visited hospitals and clinics between May 2015 and July 4th of this year, according to Reuters. The hackers specifically targeted the personal information of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his outpatient medication records.
