The Prime Minister visits and encourages people in Hoa Thinh, the "epicenter of the floods," Dak Lak province.
On the afternoon of November 29th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and inspected the work of overcoming the consequences of floods, stabilizing people's lives, restoring production and business, and presented gifts and encouraged people affected and damaged by floods in Hoa Thinh commune, Dak Lak province.

Accompanying the Prime Minister were Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang; Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan; General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense; and leaders of ministries, sectors, and localities.
From the beginning of November until now, provinces and cities in the central region have continuously endured Typhoon No. 13 and unprecedentedly heavy and prolonged rainfall, exceeding historical levels, especially in Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Hue City, Quang Ngai... This is one of the most serious and severe natural disasters, causing great damage to people and property, disrupting and halting production and business activities.

According to statistics, 90 people have died and 12 are missing; more than 308 houses have collapsed, been destroyed, or swept away; 981 houses have been damaged; over 82,000 hectares of rice and crops have been damaged; more than 3.3 million livestock and poultry have died or been swept away; over 1,100 hectares of aquaculture farms have been damaged; and many infrastructure facilities (schools, health centers, roads, electricity, telecommunications, etc.) have suffered severe damage. The initial estimated total damage is over 13,200 billion VND. In addition, the damage to people's property due to flooding is extensive and difficult to fully quantify.

Hoa Thinh commune was one of the most severely flooded and damaged areas during the recent heavy rains and floods in Dak Lak province and the South Central provinces, with Phu Huu village being the most heavily affected. In Hoa Thinh commune, 25 people died and 67 houses were completely destroyed by the floods.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the completely flooded area in Phu Huu village, Hoa Thinh commune, and listened to a report on the plan to build flood-resistant houses for the people in the flood-affected area; visited and encouraged several families whose houses were completely destroyed in Phu Huu village; offered incense to commemorate the deceased, and visited and encouraged the relatives of those who died due to the floods.

Next, according to the program, the Prime Minister and the delegation will hold online working sessions with four provinces: Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong, on the work of preventing, combating, and mitigating damage caused by natural disasters.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his deepest condolences to the people and local authorities affected by the floods, especially to the families of those who died, went missing, or were injured.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party and the State deeply understand and share the losses and difficulties of the people in disaster-stricken areas across the country, and have directed the urgent implementation of necessary solutions to quickly overcome the consequences of storms and floods and stabilize people's lives.
The Prime Minister requested that Party committees and local authorities in the affected areas continue to focus on urgently addressing the consequences of the floods, quickly stabilizing people's lives; ensuring housing, food, and essential supplies for the people, absolutely ensuring that no one goes hungry, cold, homeless, or without clean water; supporting people in repairing houses, rebuilding, and relocating those whose houses have collapsed or been severely damaged, completing this before the Lunar New Year; urgently cleaning up the environment and repairing schools; ensuring medical examination and treatment services, preventing outbreaks of disease; focusing on restoring transportation, irrigation, water supply, electricity, and telecommunications infrastructure; restoring production and business activities, especially agricultural production…
