The central provinces have been tasked with assigning personnel to be on duty 24/7, patrolling areas prone to forest fires.

In directing the strengthening of urgent measures for forest fire prevention and control, the Prime Minister requested the heads of provinces in Central Vietnam to implement the "four on-the-spot" principle for forest fire prevention. Local authorities are to assign forces to be on duty 24/7 throughout the dry season and set up checkpoints and patrols in areas prone to forest fires, strictly controlling the movement of people in and out of the area.

The Prime Minister instructed provinces to have plans ready for evacuation when necessary; to relocate people from dangerous areas to ensure the safety of lives and property. At the same time, the burning of fields and the use of fire in forests by the people must be controlled; and the use of fire for clearing vegetation must be temporarily suspended.

Local authorities are tasked with investigating and clarifying the causes of forest fires; strictly punishing violators; and holding heads of departments accountable when forest fires occur.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is sending personnel to localities to support emergency response and command forest fire fighting. The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security are preparing plans, forces, and equipment to participate in forest fire prevention and control, and are ready to respond to emergency situations. Localities should immediately report forest fires to the Forest Protection Department for coordinated firefighting efforts.

Due to the heatwave, on June 28th, many localities in Central Vietnam, from Da Nang to Ha Tinh, experienced forest fires. On the evening of June 28th, the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) announced that the 500kV power line between Da Nang and Ha Tinh had malfunctioned due to the forest fires. At times, the North and Central-South power systems were at risk of being split in two.
