Having lost a bet, a 16-year-old boy stabbed a street vendor to steal his belongings.

On the morning of July 12th, the Hue City Police announced that, after nearly two hours of investigation, they had coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Thua Thien Hue province to quickly arrest suspect Tran Quang Huy (born in 2002, residing at 62A/13 Dang Huy Tru Street, Phuoc Vinh Ward, Hue City) for investigation into the act of using a knife to rob property.

According to information from the Hue City Police Investigation Agency, at approximately 12:45 PM on July 11th, the unit received a report that a person was seriously injured at kiosk number 1 on Dang Huy Tru Street, Phuoc Vinh Ward, after being stabbed by a thief during a robbery.

The Hue City Police, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department of Thua Thien Hue province, quickly arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation and simultaneously transported the victim to Hue Central Hospital for emergency treatment. The units collected evidence and interviewed witnesses in the area where the incident occurred.

At 2:40 PM on the same day, the police identified the suspect, Tran Quang Huy, only 16 years old, residing at 62A/13 Dang Huy Tru Street, Phuoc Vinh Ward, Hue City, and proceeded to arrest him for further investigation.

Huy stole over 9 million dong to pay off his gambling debts from football betting.

At the police station, Huy confessed that due to his gambling addiction, specifically in the form of dice games (football betting), he owed nearly 2 million VND.

To get money to pay off his debts, Huy prepared a dagger and went to the kiosk where he spotted Tran Quang Thinh, a sales employee. Huy lunged at him, stabbed him twice, and then stole over 9 million dong.

Currently, the Hue City Police are continuing to consolidate the case file to prosecute Tran Quang Huy.
