The Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police has just issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict and temporarily detain Pham Thi Thuy (born in 1992, residing in Quang Duc commune, Quang Xuong district) for the acts of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" and "Receiving property obtained through crimes committed by others"... This is an individual involved in a ring that rented self-driving cars, then forged documents to sell or pawn them to appropriate property.
Previously, in August 2024, the Sam Son City Police Investigation Agency initiated legal proceedings and temporarily detained four main suspects in this network, including: Truong Thi Thuy (born in 1991), Dinh Van Cuong (born in 1981) - both residing in Hoang Dat commune, Hoang Hoa district; Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (born in 1990, residing in Lam Son ward, Thanh Hoa city) and Nguyen Thi Hang (born in 1989, residing in Truong Thi ward, Thanh Hoa city).
Expanding the investigation, the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police discovered that Pham Thi Thuy was also involved in this fraud ring, playing the role of taking all the self-driving cars that the above-mentioned suspects had fraudulently obtained to pawn or sell them.
