On November 15th, the Dong Thap Provincial Police Department temporarily detained Ly Tran Khai (36 years old, residing in Ward 2, Sa Dec City) for investigation into the act of "resisting public officials."

According to initial information, Khai was a notorious figure in the local area and was sent to compulsory drug rehabilitation.

On November 13th, a task force from the Sa Dec City Police Department came to Khai's house to take him to a drug rehabilitation center. However, due to being sent to rehabilitation centers multiple times, Khai harbored resentment.

Khải used a bamboo stick to hit Lieutenant Colonel Lê Hiếu Hòa, Deputy Chief of Police of Sa Đéc City, on the head, causing the police officer to suffer head injuries and a fractured left collarbone.

Afterward, Khai was apprehended and taken to the police station for questioning. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Hoa was taken to the hospital by local residents for emergency treatment.

The police are currently holding Khai in custody for investigation and processing.
