Thuong Tin makes a surprise return to the screen alongside People's Artist Minh Chau and actor Quoc Tuan.

After a long absence from the screen, Thuong Tin surprised everyone by appearing in a film.Coolies never cry.She took on a role that had a significant impact on the psychological development of the main character, played by People's Artist Minh Châu.

The film revolves around the journey of Mrs. Nguyen (People's Artist Minh Chau). Returning from Europe, she carries the urn containing her ex-husband's ashes and a pet dog he left behind. Amidst her emotional turmoil, she receives news that her granddaughter wants to get married to her younger boyfriend. Coincidentally meeting a young man, Mrs. Nguyen invites him on a long trip to reunite with close friends she hasn't been in contact with for many years.

At the timeCoolies never cry.Filmed in 2022, People's Artist Minh Châu revealed that she had the opportunity to reunite with artist Thương Tín through this film. While the two artists hadn't met in real life for many years, in the film, Thương Tín played the role of the father-in-law of Mrs. Nguyện's family. Although his screen time wasn't extensive, his role played a crucial part in the emotional flow and nostalgic resonance of the main character.

According to director Pham Ngoc Lan, the role in the original script was for a woman and required the actress to lose weight for several months. However, because he couldn't find a suitable actress, he split this one character into two people in the story.

Coincidentally, the filmmaker learned that artist Thuong Tin had recently recovered from a stroke, and his pronunciation was no longer clear and articulate, quite similar to the character he was describing. He and the producer extended an invitation and were fortunate to receive a nod of approval from the star.The cards are on the table.

Because the artist no longer had a citizen's identity card, he couldn't travel by plane and had to travel by car for a day and a night from Ho Chi Minh City to the filming location. A long-time fan accompanied and supported the artist during the 5 days he worked with the film crew.

Despite battling a serious illness and being away from the screen for many years, artist Thuong Tin worked enthusiastically and wholeheartedly with the film crew. Director Pham Ngoc Lan recalled: "On screen, Uncle Tin's character didn't seem well, but in reality, during filming, his health and spirit were full of inner strength."

Meanwhile, People's Artist Minh Châu was moved to tears upon reuniting with a long-lost colleague. Artist Minh Châu said that artist Thương Tín was a close friend of her husband. In their younger days, whenever Thương Tín came to Hanoi for work, he would often visit Minh Châu and her husband. Meeting again and performing together, she felt a deep affection for her old friend.
