The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held its regular February meeting.
On the afternoon of February 24th, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held its regular meeting to review the results of activities in February and agree on tasks for March. Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - presided over the meeting.
Also attending were members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, National Assembly deputies from the province, full-time National Assembly deputies, and the Office of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and People's Council.
In February, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Committees of the Provincial People's Council, the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council, and related agencies seriously implemented the conclusions of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council at the January session, ensuring progress and quality.

The Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council successfully held its 36th thematic session; focusing on directing, guiding, inspecting, and implementing tasks to prepare for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term within its authority; monitoring the implementation of conclusions from supervision, questioning, and explanations by the Provincial People's Council and its Standing Committee within the areas under its responsibility; and the conclusions following supervision and surveys by the Provincial People's Council's Committees; developing the work program, supervision program, and coordinating the thematic supervision and survey programs for 2026 of the Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Council's Committees.

Regarding the key tasks for March, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial National Assembly Deputies, the full-time National Assembly Deputies, and the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council will focus on successfully organizing the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. This includes focusing on strategic tasks such as managing the election campaign process, closely monitoring the implementation of current resolutions, and maintaining close interaction with voters through the handling of complaints and petitions. In addition, they will prepare logistics for the first session of the new term and develop projects to improve the effectiveness of the government apparatus in the next term.
Concluding the session, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council to focus on preparing for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, including all stages from inspection and supervision to election campaigning.
In addition, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Nghia Hieu requested that agencies focus on promoting the work of addressing citizens' petitions and promptly resolving all outstanding requests and complaints from voters.
Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu suggested that the Office of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council develop a plan to improve the effectiveness of the Provincial People's Council for the new term, ensuring stability and continuity in state management at the local level.
