The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee visits and extends New Year greetings to units of the armed forces.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies - led the delegation. Also present were: Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee and Director of the Provincial Public Security Department; Colonel Tran Van Hung - Member of the Standing Committee and Commander of the Provincial Military Command; and representatives from the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and several provincial departments and agencies.

The delegation visited and extended New Year greetings to the 4th Military Region Command. Receiving the delegation were Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Commander of the Military Region; Major General Tran Vo Dung - Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Military Region; and other generals and officers of the Military Region Command.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh announced some highlights regarding the socio-economic situation and the results of military and national defense tasks in the province. In 2017, the province completed all 27 socio-economic development targets, with many targets exceeded.

In preparation for the Lunar New Year of Mau Tuat 2018, the province called on officials, civil servants, employees, businesses, and philanthropists to support the "Tet for the Poor" program; through this, more than 60 billion VND was mobilized to help poor households in the province have the means to celebrate Tet.

On behalf of the Party Committee, the government, and the people of Nghe An province, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh respectfully thanked the 4th Military Region for its comprehensive attention and support, especially in the implementation of national defense and security tasks in the past, thereby creating a stable foundation for socio-economic development.

The Provincial Party Secretary expressed his hope that in 2018 and the following years, Military Region 4 would continue to pay attention to and support Nghe An in fulfilling its socio-economic development tasks. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2018, the Provincial Party Secretary extended New Year greetings to the generals, officers, soldiers of Military Region 4 and their families, wishing them good health and happiness; and wishing the armed forces of Military Region 4 excellent performance in their duties.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong stated that Military Region 4 has had close coordination and cooperation with the Party committees, authorities, and people in the Military Region's area, including Nghe An province, thereby effectively carrying out tasks and receiving high praise from the Ministry of National Defense.

The Commander of Military Region 4 also highly appreciated the results of the 2017 Provincial Defense Zone Exercise; as well as the attention given by Nghe An province to military and national defense tasks.

In the new year, Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong expressed his wish that the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghe An province would continue to pay attention to, coordinate with, and cooperate well with the Military Region so that the unit could successfully complete its tasks; and wished the province success in achieving its goals and building Nghe An into an increasingly developed province.

During his visit to extend New Year greetings to the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged the achievements of the force in 2017, including effectively protecting the border and border markers, assisting people in economic development; coordinating with the police force to dismantle many drug trafficking rings; and successfully carrying out diplomatic work with neighboring Laos. For the new year, the Provincial Party Secretary wished the provincial border guard force good health, happiness, and success in fulfilling their assigned duties.

The delegation also visited and extended New Year greetings to the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police. To ensure the safety of the people during the Lunar New Year celebrations, the provincial police force maintained a 2/3 staffing level and focused on tasks such as combating counterfeit and substandard goods, maintaining security and order, and ensuring traffic safety.

On behalf of the delegation, Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh highly appreciated the efforts of the provincial police force in 2017, thereby ensuring political security and social order and safety, creating conditions for the province to complete all 27 targets.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the head of the Provincial Party Committee wished the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police and their families good health and happiness; and wished the police force to excellently fulfill the tasks entrusted by the Party and the people.

During his visit to extend New Year greetings to the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged the achievements in fulfilling their duties over the past year, including their timely advice to the Party Committee on the implementation of military and national defense tasks; and especially the successful organization of the provincial-level defense exercise.

Extending New Year greetings to the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Party Secretary expressed his wish that the unit would continue to build upon its achievements, effectively carry out military and national defense tasks, and perform well in mass mobilization work…

The delegation also visited and congratulated the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Fire Prevention and Fighting Police. In 2017, the Provincial Fire Prevention and Fighting Police force was awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Ministry of Public Security, contributing to the overall achievements of the province.

Sending New Year greetings to the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Fire Prevention and Control Police, the head of the Provincial Party Committee also expressed his hope that the force would continue to excellently fulfill its tasks, especially in doing a good job of disseminating information about fire prevention and control to the people and businesses, emphasizing prevention as the main focus to minimize fire incidents; on the other hand, in approving fire prevention and control plans for investment projects, the process should be both quick to facilitate businesses and ensure that the fire prevention and control plan is carefully and thoroughly calculated to ensure safety.
