General Huynh Chien Thang inspects the response to Typhoon No. 10 in Nghe An.
On the morning of September 28, a delegation from the Ministry of National Defence, led by Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, inspected the response to Typhoon No. 10 in Nghe An province.
Joining the delegation were representatives from the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services; leaders of the Border Guard Command; the Search and Rescue Department, and relevant agencies of the General Staff.

Representing Military Region 4 were Major General Le Hong Nhan - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 4; and leaders of various agencies of Military Region 4.
Representing Nghe An province were Comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Commander of the Provincial Military Command; and representatives from various departments and agencies.

According to reports, to date, agencies and units of Military Region 4 and Nghe An province have proactively implemented decisive and coordinated measures to respond to Typhoon No. 10, ensuring minimal damage. Adhering to the "four on-the-spot" principle, they have maintained readiness of forces, equipment, facilities, and food supplies to respond to any situations that may arise; and identified and anticipated situations and areas where evacuation may be necessary.

During the inspection, the Ministry of National Defense delegation received a brief report on disaster prevention and search and rescue plans, combat readiness, communication, urging ships to seek safe shelter from storms, logistical and technical support, and the mobilization of forces and resources in case of emergencies.
The Ministry of National Defense delegation directly inspected the situation in several key areas in Nghe An province. The inspection in Cua Lo Ward revealed that the provincial armed forces and relevant agencies are urgently mobilizing all resources to support the relocation of people, vehicles, and property from dangerous areas; reviewing potential risk areas and structures, areas for relocating people, and safe anchorage areas, in order to coordinate and implement solutions to ensure safety.
Currently, in Cua Lo ward, authorities have urgently relocated 150 residents, mainly the elderly and children, from areas at risk of flooding to safe shelters at Nghi Thuy Primary School. This is to ensure the safety and health of the people amidst the complex developments of Typhoon No. 10.
Speaking at the inspection, Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang commended and highly appreciated the proactive and flexible spirit of the military and people of Nghe An province in preparing for and responding to Typhoon No. 10. He also requested that the armed forces agencies and units of Nghe An province strictly maintain duty rosters, ensure smooth communication; proactively monitor and closely track the development of the typhoon; continue to thoroughly implement directives and instructions from superiors; review, adjust, and supplement plans; prepare forces, equipment, facilities, food, etc., to be ready to respond promptly and effectively when situations arise and ensure safety in all aspects.
In addition, the armed forces of Nghe An must coordinate closely with local Party committees, authorities, and military units stationed in the area, ready to mobilize to help people respond to and minimize damage caused by the storm.
