Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang holds the position of Minister of Public Security
Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term.
On June 6, the National Assembly carried out the approval process for the appointment of the Minister of Public Security.
Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security is the person approved by the Prime Minister to be appointed as Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term by the National Assembly.
The approval of the appointment to this position is conducted by National Assembly deputies by secret ballot.
After completing the prescribed steps, the National Assembly discussed and voted to pass a Resolution approving the appointment of Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security to hold the position of Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term.
The voting results of the Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of the Minister of Public Security for the 2021-2026 term had 468/469 delegates participating in the vote in favor (equal to 96.10% of the total number of National Assembly deputies), and 1 delegate disagreed (equal to 0.21% of the total number of National Assembly deputies).

Previously, on May 22, the National Assembly elected General To Lam - Minister of Public Security to hold the position of President and passed a resolution approving the dismissal of Mr. To Lam from the position of Minister of Public Security.
On the same day, the Prime Minister assigned Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To - Deputy Minister of Public Security to manage the activities of the Ministry of Public Security until the competent authority completes the position of Minister of Public Security according to regulations.
On June 3, the Party Central Office announced the Politburo's Decision to transfer and assign Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc - Deputy Minister of Public Security to hold the position of Chief of the Party Central Office.

Thus, the Ministry of Public Security currently has 5 leaders including Minister Luong Tam Quang and 4 Deputy Ministers: Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To; Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung; Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long.
Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang was born in 1965; hometown Hiep Cuong commune, Kim Dong district, Hung Yen province; Bachelor of Law and Security.
He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee; Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Security Agency.
During his career, Mr. Luong Tam Quang held many positions in the security field, serving as assistant to the Deputy Minister of Public Security.
In 2012, he became Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security with the rank of Colonel and was promoted to the rank of Major General in 2014.
In September 2017, he was appointed Chief of Office and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General in January 2019.
On August 15, 2019, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Security and concurrently Head of the Security Investigation Agency a year later.
He was promoted to the rank of Senior Lieutenant General in January 2022.
