The deal involving Ho Van Cuong fell through.
(Baonghean.vn) - After Baonghean.vn published an article about SLNA loaning out young star Ho Van Cuong, many opinions expressing opposition appeared on social media, causing the Vinh-based team to withdraw the aforementioned decision. Therefore, Ho Van Cuong will continue to stay and serve his hometown team.

Previously, Hanoi Police FC sent a loan request for Ho Van Cuong. The young player himself wanted to try his luck in a new environment and SLNA agreed. This caused strong opposition from fans in Nghe An province.
Many fans believe that "selling young talent" will have negative consequences for the team's development, as well as setting a bad precedent and affecting the morale of many other talented players at Song Lam Nghe An.
Furthermore, loaning out talented players who are at an age where they should be contributing to the team goes against the meaning, purpose, and direction of Nghe An province's investment in its provincial football team.
Following the public outcry, the sponsor Song Lam Nghe An had to withdraw its decision to loan Ho Van Cuong to Hanoi Police. This means the Ho Van Cuong transfer deal fell through. Ho Van Cuong will continue to play for his hometown team.
With his talent and experience gained from competing in numerous international tournaments with the Vietnamese national team, Ho Van Cuong will be an important player for Song Lam Nghe An in the 2023-2024 season.
Ho Van Cuong joined the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center in 2019. Under the guidance of coaches from Nghe An province, Van Cuong quickly proved his abilities and secured a firm place in the youth ranks of the Nghe An team. In 2021, at the age of 18, Ho Van Cuong was selected by the Song Lam Nghe An coaching staff to play in the National U21 Championship and contributed to winning the Silver Medal alongside his senior teammates.
Following that impressive performance, Van Cuong was included in the Song Lam Nghe An first team squad for the 2022 V.League season. In his very first season, the player born in 2003 quickly secured a starting position at the club as a right-back.
2023 marked an impressive performance for the player from Hoang Mai, as he consistently earned the trust of coaches Hoang Anh Tuan (Vietnam U20) and Troussier (Vietnam U23). Currently, Ho Van Cuong is participating with the Vietnam U23 team in the 2024 U23 Asian Championship qualifiers. With his brilliant form, this young player is a reliable tactical asset for coach Troussier. In the match against Guam U23, the defender born in 2003 contributed one goal for the Golden Star team.
