The draft resolution on disciplinary action against retired officials and civil servants will be submitted to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly at its 6th session.

According to the planned agenda for the 6th Session (January 9-11, 2017), the Minister of Home Affairs will present the Submission, and the Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee will present the verification report before the National Assembly Standing Committee gives its opinion at the end of the session.

Previously, at the 5th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan stated that this was an important issue requiring more time for thorough research, and therefore the Government had not yet had time to prepare and submit it to the National Assembly Standing Committee in December as planned.

At the 5th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Speaker of the National Assembly stated that the Government had requested a postponement of the submission deadline to allow for further research and preparation of the draft Resolution.

In the Resolution on interpellation and answers at the recent 2nd session, the National Assembly severely criticized Mr. Vu Huy Hoang, Minister of Industry and Trade during the 2011-2016 term, for violations in personnel management during his tenure, causing serious consequences, negatively affecting the prestige of the Party, the State, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, causing public outrage, and attracting the attention and questioning of many National Assembly deputies.

At the same time, the National Assembly instructed relevant agencies to urgently review, amend, and supplement, within their authority, legal documents on cadres, civil servants, and public employees, creating a comprehensive legal basis for fair and strict handling of violations by cadres, civil servants, and public employees, even after they have transferred to other positions or retired.

At its 6th session, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will also give its opinion on major issues with differing views in the following draft laws: the Law on State Liability for Compensation (amended); the Law on Legal Aid (amended); the Law on Support for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises; the Law on Management and Use of State Assets (amended); the Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Supporting Tools; the Law on Security Guarding…/.
