Ban Ve Hydropower Plant completes its annual production plan.

(Baonghean) - In 2016, Ban Ve Hydropower Company made efforts to complete and exceed the assigned plans, targets, and tasks, specifically:

Technical management and operation of the electricity market:

+ Electricity production reached 889.5 million kWh, achieving 121.5% of the assigned plan (732 million kWh) and 103.7% of the adjusted plan (858 million kWh).

+ Operating the electricity market efficiently, fulfilling production plans and maximizing revenue, achieving a total annual revenue of 1,049 billion VND, with an average electricity price (after tax and fees) of 1,192.97 VND/kWh, higher than the contract price (Pc = 947.08 VND/kWh), and contributing 177.7 billion VND in taxes and fees to the state budget.

+ Safe and efficient operation, with no accidents involving people or major equipment failures. Availability coefficients, failure rates, and self-consumption ratios all met or exceeded requirements.

The rate of self-consumption of electricity is equal to the technical target assigned to the factory (1.15%).

The availability ratio in 2016 was 96.32%, meeting and exceeding the assigned target (96.22%).

In 2016, the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant experienced one incident, with an annual incident rate of 0.04 < the assigned incident rate.

Flood and storm prevention and control efforts:

The company has closely coordinated with the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghe An province to operate the reservoir, ensuring a good supply of irrigation water for downstream areas. At the same time, the reservoir's operation effectively mitigated two major floods in August and September, reducing peak flood levels and total flood flow by 80-90%.

Major repair work:

The company completed the TM1 overhaul safely, with quality assurance, and on schedule from March 18, 2016 to April 4, 2016. Other major construction items and auxiliary equipment systems were implemented according to plan and have been finalized.

Research and assessment of the stability of CNNs, diversion dams, and spillways:

The Hydropower Project Management Board 2 signed a contract with Power Construction Consulting Company No. 1 to implement this work, and Power Construction Consulting Company No. 1 signed a contract with a subcontractor, the joint venture of Japan-Vietnam Construction Consulting Company Limited and Kawasaki Geological Company Limited, to provide consulting services to support the assessment of the causes of the rise in water levels and the level of dam safety risks. To date, the consulting unit is studying and preparing the final report, which is expected to be completed in February 2017.

Riverbed improvement and reinforcement work from erosion pits to pedestrian bridges:

Following the directives of the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) in document No. 4513/EVN-QLXD dated October 24, 2016, regarding the approval of the supplementary contract addendum for the riverbed improvement project from erosion pit to downstream pedestrian bridge - Ban Ve Hydropower Plant, and of Power Generation Corporation 1 in document No. 2976/EVNGENCO1-QLĐT dated November 3, 2016, regarding the supplementary contract addendum for the riverbed improvement project from erosion pit to downstream pedestrian bridge - Ban Ve Hydropower Plant, the Hydropower Project Management Board 2 signed Contract Addendum No. 20/PLHĐ-ATĐ2-P2 dated November 8, 2016, and has commenced implementation. This project is expected to be completed before June 30, 2017.

Relocation work in 3 difficult villages in the reservoir area; Landscape architecture phase 2; Restoration and reclamation of the overall site of the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant:

The Corporation approved the contractor selection plan in Decision No. 206/QD-EVN dated December 1, 2016. Power Generation Corporation 1 issued Document No. 35/EVNGENCO1-QLDT dated December 5, 2016, regarding the implementation of Decision No. 206/QD-EVN approving the contractor selection plan. Currently, the Hydropower Project Management Board 2 is conducting the contractor selection process in accordance with regulations to commence construction, with completion expected before June 30, 2017.

The Ban Ve Hydropower Plant is carrying out flood discharge procedures.

Project settlement procedures:

The final settlement and audit work for phases I, II, and III has been completed and approved by the Group, with a total value of VND 6,642 billion out of VND 7,593 billion (total investment value excluding contingency costs) - reaching 87.5%.

In 2017, the company aimed to achieve the following electricity production targets:

Electricity production plan (terminal): 97.9 million kWh. Of which:

- Planned electricity production (at the busbar): 771.1 million kWh.

- Self-consumption of electricity (1.13%): 8.8 million kWh.
