Hydropower plants in Nghe An province announce flood release.
(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Nghe An province, Khe Bo Hydropower Plant (in Tuong Duong) issued Notice No. 169/TB-KHPP dated July 17, 2018, regarding the operation of flood discharge from Khe Bo Hydropower Reservoir.
On the afternoon of July 17th, the water inflow into Khe Bo reservoir was 650 m³.3The water flow from the Ca River into the Khe Bo hydroelectric reservoir is expected to be around 800 m³/s and continues to increase. The projected water flow from the Ca River into the Khe Bo hydroelectric reservoir from 1:00 AM on July 18, 2018 is approximately 800 m³.3/s to 1700 m3To ensure the plant operates safely in accordance with the inter-reservoir operating procedures on the Ca River basin, the plant plans to release floodwaters starting at 1:00 AM on July 18, 2018.

The total expected discharge volume is 800m³.3/s up to 1,700m3/s (Including discharge flow through the spillway and power generation flow through the turbines). The discharge will end when the flood caused by the tropical convergence zone with its axis passing through North Central Vietnam and connected to the center of typhoon No. 3 has subsided.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue hereby informs the People's Committees of the districts of Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen and Vinh City; Heads of provincial departments and agencies; Directors of irrigation limited liability companies to inform local authorities, agencies, construction investors along and on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the downstream areas to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property.
