The World Economic Forum has just released a new ranking of global competitiveness.
Accordingly, the top three positions in the ranking remain unchanged after a year. Switzerland is in first place, followed by Singapore in second, and the United States in third.
Russia has moved up two places from last year, now ranking 43rd. Currently, Russia is one place ahead of Italy in the rankings.
Economic experts note the improved quality of education and the business environment in Russia. In addition, analysts believe that Russia is gradually moving away from its dependence on natural energy resources and shifting towards technological development. Notably, Russia has achieved considerable success in its fight against corruption.
At the same time, the WEF also pointed out that inflation is one of the main factors hindering economic development in Russia.
