(Baonghean.vn) - In episode 2 of Bolero Idol broadcast on VTV3, Nghe An philosophy doctor Nguyen Duy Cuong drove coaches Nhu Quynh, Quang Le and Ngoc Son "crazy" with his singing voice.

Nguyen Duy Cuong is 27 years old, from Nghi Thai commune, Nghi Loc district (Nghe An). Duy Cuong is currently a lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Hanoi, and has just completed his PhD in Philosophy.

Nguyen Duy Cuong appeared on the Bolero Idol stage on the evening of February 1st on VTV3 with the song “Mua dem tinh nho”. Not only does he have a “handsome” appearance, his clear voice made coaches Quang Le, Nhu Quynh and Ngoc Son sob and couldn’t sit still. And especially, singer Quang Le had to take the microphone on stage to sing a duet with Duy Cuong.

Coach and singer Quang Le commented that he did not think that a Doctor of Philosophy could bring such full emotions to the song “Rain in a Small Province”. Singer Quang Le also highly appreciated Duy Cuong’s bright voice that could maximize his strengths.

As for coach Ngoc Son, he thinks Duy Cuong is a precious gem, comparing the Nghe An PhD's voice to an "underground volcano" and excitedly wants to have this young man to bring back to "polish".

Also on the bolero stage, Duy Cuong introduced his biological mother and adoptive mother to the audience. Notably, he sang a duet of the song “Gian ma thuong” with his biological mother, which moved the entire studio.

Finally, Duy Cuong chose singer Ngoc Son as his coach because he loves the singer's songs about his parents.

Nguyen Duy Cuong has been passionate about music since he was a child, especially bolero music. He inherited the tradition of loving music from his father and mother. Unfortunately, when he was in first grade, Cuong's father had a traffic accident and Cuong had to study, do housework and take care of his sick mother in the hospital. "It was that childhood that helped me express my feelings and thoughts into sweet bolero songs, full of deep love," Duy Cuong shared.

Currently, Duy Cuong is practicing and improving his singing voice to prepare for upcoming challenges on the Bolero Idol program.
