Doctor U80 devotedly 'carries the burden'

(Baonghean.vn) - That is the comparison of the people of Block 7, Ha Huy Tap Ward - Vinh City (Nghe An) to Mr. Dinh Trong Xoan - the devoted Party Secretary of the block.

Mr. Dinh Trong Xoan has a doctorate degree and was formerly a cadre working in management. After retirement, living happily with his children and grandchildren, he always determined to be exemplary in his words and daily actions, constantly training himself following Uncle Ho's example, taking the lead in the movements of the block as well as the ward.

At 80 years old, he still wears glasses to search and learn on the computer to update news and apply information technology to serve his work. He shared: “Nowadays, everything is much more modern, I myself have to try to learn and absorb new things. Learning is a lifelong thing, it never stops…”.

Mr. Dinh Trong Xoan happily introduced alley 19 Hoang Van Thu street - where people from block 7 donated land to open the road.

At the Party cell meetings, he always sought out suitable topics and proactively proposed solutions for group discussion. Therefore, the Party cell meetings of grade 7 were always highly appreciated for their quality and organization.

Mr. Dinh Trong Xoan also made great contributions in mobilizing party members and people to respond to the expansion of roads and alleys. This has been the desire of generations of cadres for decades but has not been realized because land prices are increasing, and donating land to open roads inevitably "touches" the personal interests of some people.

Understanding that, with the motto "Party members go first, the country follows", Mr. Dinh Trong Xoan took the lead in donating more than 4.6 square meters of land and dismantled his family's fence, then rebuilt 17 meters of fence to ensure a clear alley and airy sidewalk.

He also persistently knocked on each door, mobilizing people to donate land to open roads. Not letting down the dedicated old cadre, after more than a year, 26 households voluntarily donated land, moving back fences with a total of 157 square meters. This area may not be large compared to rural areas, but in Vinh city, it is very valuable. He shared: “I determined that this is a job that requires perseverance, not haste, and even more so, cannot criticize or force, but only by calling for and persuading with my enthusiasm. Only then can we maintain solidarity in the bloc and people contribute with a comfortable mindset.”
