(Baonghean.vn) - After arriving at Hanoi's 115 Hospital, midfielder Vo Ngoc Toan was examined and diagnosed by leading sports doctors to assess the severity of his injury.

Just 10 minutes after being substituted in for Van Vinh in the 67th minute of the recent V.League match against HAGL in round 10, midfielder Ngoc Toan suffered a serious injury after a reckless challenge. Ngoc Toan's injury was quite severe, so the medical team administered painkillers and immediately transported him to the hospital in an ambulance.

This afternoon (March 21st), at the Vietnam Sports Hospital, Dr. Nguyen Trong Hien, a specialist in sports injuries and currently the Head of the Medical Department at the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi, who directly examined Ngoc Toan, concluded that he suffered a sprain of the ligaments in his left knee.

With this injury, Ngoc Toan will have to wear a splint, rest for two weeks, and need at least a month of rehabilitation before he can return to normal training. Previously, the SLNA player was worried that he had torn a ligament or damaged a meniscus, as these are serious injuries that are difficult to treat and recover from.

Therefore, SLNA will certainly be without the services of the midfielder born in 1994 for a month, especially for crucial matches against Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi at Hang Day Stadium. Without Ngoc Toan, the SLNA coaching staff will likely have to consider using Que Ngoc Hai or Van Vinh to fill the defensive midfield position left vacant by Ngoc Toan.
