Continuing to affirm the role of 'the Party's reliable reserve force'
(Baonghean.vn) - From the practical implementation of youth movements at the grassroots level, many outstanding youth union members have been identified and recommended to the Party committees for training and admission into the Party. Through this, grassroots Youth Union organizations in Nghe An continue to affirm their role as "the reliable reserve force of the Party".
Comrade La Thi Hang, a female member of the Youth Union of the Dan Lai ethnic group, was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam in November 2023 by the Party Branch of Ba Ha village, Thach Ngan commune, Con Cuong district. She is the first Dan Lai Party member in Thach Ngan commune to be admitted to the Party at a young age and the second person of the Dan Lai ethnic group in Con Cuong district to be admitted to the Party.
This recognition from the Party organization is a testament to the efforts and self-improvement of Comrade La Thi Hang, and also reflects the achievements of the Youth Union in nurturing its members in the area.
According to a sharing session, Comrade Lu Thi Bang Chau, Secretary of the Con Cuong District Youth Union, stated that in 2023, the district admitted 111 new Party members, including 70 Youth Union members (over 63% of the total number of new Party members in the district). To achieve this result, in addition to the guidance, encouragement, and recognition from the Party organization, the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union directed the grassroots Youth Union branches to focus on Party member development and effectively implement the campaign "Youth Union members strive to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam".
Accordingly, on a quarterly basis, the Youth Union branches organize the selection of outstanding members to propose to the Party committee for consideration to attend Party membership orientation classes and continue training for Party membership. Youth Union organizations at all levels also effectively carry out advisory work, working with Party branches to develop Party members from students and ethnic minority youth.
Always recognizing its role as the "reliable reserve force of the Party," the Youth Union at all levels in Nghe An regularly trains and introduces young people to supplement the Party's ranks. The Youth Union at all levels also organizes many practical activities to help its members and young people train, enhance their political acumen, build ideals, and strive to join the Party.
In Yen Thanh district, 371 new Party members were admitted in 2023, including 153 Youth Union members (over 42% of the total number of new Party members in the district). In the first two months of 2024, an additional 32 Youth Union members in the district were admitted to the Party.
Comrade Pham Thi Huyen Trang, Secretary of the Yen Thanh District Youth Union, said that in addition to introducing outstanding Youth Union members to the Party organization, the District Youth Union organizes many activities annually to attract Youth Union members and young people to participate. Typical examples include volunteer activities such as: "Bowl of Compassionate Porridge," "Car Wash for Fundraising," "Organizing Meals of Love," "Free Medical Examination and Dispensing of Medicine for the People"; implementing youth projects; and providing support and training for children and teenagers… Through these activities, an environment is created for Youth Union members and young people to train, contribute, be recognized and introduced, and continue to grow within the Party ranks.
In 2023, Nghe An province admitted 5,097 new Party members, of which 3,033 were Youth Union members, accounting for more than 59.5% of the total number of new Party members admitted.
Participating in building and protecting the Party and the political system is the responsibility and political right of Youth Union members, young people, and the Youth Union organization; it is a crucial and ongoing task for all levels of the Youth Union. In his speech at the 12th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, term 2022-2027, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union must constantly replenish the Party with young vitality by recruiting Party members from outstanding Youth Union members and qualified young cadres recommended to the Party, government, and political system; at the same time, it needs to actively and proactively carry out the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, taking the lead and resolutely fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
According to the General Secretary, the global situation, alongside its positive aspects, continues to evolve rapidly, complexly, and unpredictably. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is developing strongly with scientific breakthroughs and technological advancements that will drive leaps in development in many fields, creating both opportunities and challenges for all countries… We continue to comprehensively and synchronously promote the reform process with new strength and momentum; however, we also face many difficulties and challenges, especially the impact of the global economic and financial recession; epidemics, living conditions, employment, and social ills…, affecting the thoughts and lives of the people, including young people.
In light of this reality, it is essential for youth union members to uphold the heroic traditions of the nation and inherit the valuable lessons learned from the Party, building the Youth Union and the youth force into a truly courageous, creative vanguard and a solid, reliable reserve force of the Party and the People, meeting the increasingly high demands of the revolution in the new stage.
In line with the development requirements of the country and their homeland, the youth union members in Nghe An are actively participating in various movements, demonstrating a pioneering spirit, creativity, and volunteerism for the community, leading the way in digital transformation, self-improvement, and career development, contributing positively to the successful implementation of resolutions of the Youth Union and the Party at all levels.
The Youth Union branches at all levels in Nghe An province have also clearly defined the responsibility of "Cultivating outstanding Youth Union members for the Party is a noble and sacred mission of the Youth Union." Based on this, they strengthen the cultivation of ideals for Youth Union members and young people, and replicate good and creative models and methods in the work of developing Party members from Youth Union members.
