Continue to thoroughly understand and effectively implement the viewpoints, policies, and guidelines of the Party and the laws of the State on religious affairs in the province.
On the morning of July 18th, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to review the state management work on beliefs and religions during the first six months of the year, implement tasks for the last six months, and summarize the two-year implementation of Decision No. 286/2022/QD-UBND dated June 29, 2022, of the Provincial People's Committee.
According to the report, the religious situation in the province during the first six months of 2024 was basically stable in all aspects. All levels and sectors actively and proactively advised the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue leadership and guidance documents to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on religious affairs; promptly addressing needs and resolving difficulties and obstacles to effectively handle complex cases.
The needs that lacked sufficient legal and practical basis were explained and addressed in accordance with the law, receiving the consensus of the Church; the improved living standards of religious followers contributed to strengthening the trust of religious leaders, officials, and believers in the leadership of the Party, the State, and local authorities.
The political system, from the provincial to the grassroots level, pays attention to propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage religious leaders, officials, and followers to participate in charitable and humanitarian activities; emulation movements; and campaigns… This contributes to building and strengthening relationships of sharing, cooperation, trust, and respect for the law between religious organizations and all levels of government.
The fight against reactionary individuals and organizations that exploit religion to undermine the State through distorted and slanderous accusations against Vietnam for violating religious freedom has been consistent, resolute, systematic, and persuasive, thus becoming increasingly effective. This contributes to ensuring security and order, preventing the occurrence of "hot spots," and also helps to win over moderate religious leaders who have good relations with the government.
Regarding the results of the two-year implementation of Decision No. 286/2022/QD-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee on the promulgation of regulations on coordination in resolving some issues related to religion in the province, all levels, sectors, and localities have closely coordinated according to their functions and tasks to advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on resolving some issues related to religion in the province in accordance with regulations. Specifically, all levels and sectors have coordinated to advise on resolving issues related to the establishment, division, merger, and consolidation of affiliated religious organizations; resolving land needs for religious establishments; handling administrative violations in the field of land and construction order related to religion; and religious activities and activities related to religion that violate the law and affect security and order...
At the conference, representatives from various departments, agencies, and localities delivered speeches highlighting the strengths and weaknesses, and proposing directions and tasks in the state management of beliefs and religions, as well as in coordinating the resolution of some religious-related issues in their respective areas.
In his concluding remarks at the conference, Comrade Le Hong Vinh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the coordination and cooperation among departments, agencies, and localities in the state management of beliefs and religions; in resolving some religious-related issues in the province, while also pointing out existing shortcomings and limitations.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that in the coming period, the state management sector should continue to thoroughly understand and effectively implement the viewpoints, policies and guidelines of the Party, the laws of the State, and the directives from the Central Government and the province regarding religious affairs in the province. They should implement a comprehensive and diverse range of propaganda measures and forms. Attention should be paid to directing, guiding, and urging the timely resolution of legitimate needs of religious organizations in accordance with the law.
Focus intensely on state management in mountainous areas. Effectively gather information early on, implement statistical and reporting systems to promptly detect violations and take preventative measures.
