On the morning of July 18, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to review the state management of beliefs and religions in the first 6 months of the year, deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year and review 2 years of implementing Decision No. 286/2022/QD-UBND dated June 29, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee.
According to the report, the situation of beliefs and religions in the first 6 months of 2024 in the province is basically stable in all aspects. All levels and sectors have actively and proactively advised the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue leadership documents and direct the effective implementation of the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies on beliefs and religions; promptly resolved needs, removed difficulties and obstacles to effectively handle complicated cases.
The needs that lacked legal and practical basis were explained and answered in accordance with legal regulations, receiving the consensus of the Church; the life of religious people was improved, contributing to strengthening the trust of religious dignitaries, officials, and followers in the leadership of the Party, State, and local authorities.
The political system from the province to the grassroots level is interested in propaganda work, mobilizing dignitaries, officials, and followers to participate in charity and humanitarian activities; emulation movements; campaigns... Thereby contributing to building and strengthening the relationship of sharing, coordination, trust, and respect for the law between the Churches of all religions and the authorities at all levels.
The fight against reactionary individuals and organizations that take advantage of religion to sabotage the State through distorted and slanderous arguments accusing Vietnam of violating religious freedom is regular, resolute, systematic and convincing, so it is increasingly effective, contributing to ensuring security and order, preventing the occurrence of "hot spots", and at the same time contributing to mobilizing moderate dignitaries who have good relationships with the government.
Regarding the results of 2 years of implementing Decision No. 286/2022/QD-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee on promulgating regulations on coordination in resolving a number of issues related to religion in the area, all levels, sectors and localities have closely coordinated according to their functions and tasks to advise the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee to resolve a number of issues related to religion in the area in accordance with regulations. Specifically, all levels and sectors have coordinated to advise on resolving issues related to the establishment, separation, merger and consolidation of affiliated religious organizations; resolving the need for land for religious establishments; handling administrative violations in the fields of land and construction order related to religion; religious activities and religious-related activities that violate the law and affect security and order...
At the conference, representatives of departments, branches and localities spoke out clearly about the advantages and limitations, proposed directions and tasks in state management of beliefs and religions, as well as in coordinating to solve a number of issues related to religion in the area.
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, comrade Le Hong Vinh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the coordination and collaboration between departments, branches and localities in state management of beliefs and religions; in resolving a number of issues related to religion in the area, and at the same time pointed out the remaining shortcomings and limitations.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that in the coming time, the state management sector should continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's viewpoints, policies, the State's laws, and directive documents from the Central and the province on religious work in the province. Synchronously and diversely deploy propaganda measures and forms. Pay attention to directing, guiding, and urging the timely resolution of legitimate needs of religious organizations in accordance with the law.
Focus on state management in mountainous areas. Do a good job of early situation monitoring, implement statistical and reporting regimes to promptly detect violations and take preventive measures.
