According to Daily Mail, investigators from the American company Ocean Infinity believe that the pilot of MH370 may have tried to fly the plane to the end but had to give up and let it fall into the sea.
Investigator John Cox said evidence found on the plane's wing revealed that it was very likely that the plane was deliberately dropped.
The US company has decided to take on the $200 million search mission for free and will only receive payment from the Malaysian government if it locates the plane.
Flight MH370 disappeared without a trace after flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014, with 12 crew members and 227 passengers from 15 countries on board. The search for the plane has cost Australia, Malaysia and China $200 million, but three years on, what happened to the plane remains a mystery.
The US company plans to send a ship with advanced sonar scanning equipment to an area where authorities believe there may be important clues to the remaining debris. Currently, about 20 pieces of debris suspected to be from MH370 have been found washed up on beaches across the Indian Ocean.
