"Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" is the title of author Michael Wolff's latest book, scheduled to be released next week, on the occasion of the first anniversary of Donald Trump's inauguration as President of the United States.
Before the book's official release, the media was said to have gotten their hands on some valuable excerpts, including shocking secrets about President Trump and his family members.
The book immediately attracted special attention from the American press and public because it is a book that summarizes almost all the hidden aspects of a year in power of the most controversial president of this country. Although it has not been released yet, the book has occupied the number 1 position on Amazon.
The book is not written by a former member of Mr. Trump’s election campaign. Michael Wolff is a journalist who “slept in” the White House during the tumultuous first months of the 45th president’s presidency. Therefore, the book is expected to provide an objective and complete view of what goes on inside the White House.
Shocking revelations
It can be said that Michael Wolff has hit the public's heart when focusing on exploiting the secrets of President Donald Trump, his family members as well as those who worked closely with him in the early days of his presidency. The book also shows readers what Mr. Trump's staff really think of their boss, or what made Mr. Trump claim that former President Barack Obama wiretapped him. The public will also find in the book the reason why Mr. Trump fired former Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) James Comey, or why Mr. Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon "can't get along".
The US media has listed some of the most shocking secrets revealed in the book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House".
1. Mr. Trump does not want to be president. In fact, no one in the campaign expected Trump to win. Trump himself did not expect to win against veteran politician Hillary Clinton. In fact, he was mentally prepared and planned to return to normal life after the campaign ended.
In the book, Michael Wolff writes: “If he loses, Trump will still become famous. His daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner will become people known to the world. And Melania Trump can continue to enjoy her private life. Losing seems to be good for everyone. Losing is winning.”
2. Mr. Trump is not interested in the Constitution. The book recounts that early in the campaign, Sam Nunberg was sent to explain the US Constitution to Mr Trump. “When I first mentioned the Fourth Amendment, Mr Trump looked up at the ceiling in frustration,” Nunberg recounted.
3. Mr. Trump does not want to move to the White House.Mr. Trump and his wife Melania have separate bedrooms and Mr. Trump forbids anyone from picking up things he throws on the floor. Mr. Trump is afraid of poisoning and forbids people from touching his toothbrush.
4. Ivanka Trump wants to run for president.President Trump's daughter and her husband Jared Kushner have agreed that if given the chance, Ivanka will be the one to run for the White House and is determined to become the first female president of the United States.
5. Mr. Trump lacks understanding of policy issues. Some of Mr. Trump’s closest aides have been stunned and sometimes “mad” by the president’s lack of understanding of policy issues. For example, Mr. Trump’s desire to expand the H-1B work visa program for foreigners has caused skepticism among many.
6. Mr. Trump was angry on inauguration day.“Mr. Trump was not happy on Inauguration Day. He was angry that top stars were ignoring the event. He even argued with his wife and Melania cried,” the book said.
7. Trump's first executive orderTrump's announcement that he would ban entry to citizens from Muslim-majority countries has left White House staff stunned, even angry.
And there are many other interesting stories inside the White House during President Trump's first year in office. Author Michael Wolff interviewed more than 200 people, including senior White House staff, over the course of 18 months to gather enough material to write the book.
